Wedding Newsletter #1
Travel and Accommodation
4 January 2026
Happy New Year! We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with you on 12 September 2026 — only eight months to go.
Dear family and friends,
We recommend starting to make plans for travel and accommodation. You still have plenty of time, so you can consider your options and get the most out of your stay. As always, we are more than happy to help guide your decisions if you need support.
The two main components of your visit that we want to discuss today are travel and accommodation. The wedding is taking place in the Euganean Hills, to the south-west of Padova, which itself is to the south-west of Venice.
Travel to Italy
We recommend flying into Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE). It is the major airport in the region and has frequent connections to Padova in around 45 minutes.
You can fly to Venice Marco Polo (VCE) from:
- Birmingham (BHX) — Jet2
- Bristol (BRS) — easyJet, Ryanair
- Edinburgh (EDI) — easyJet, Ryanair
- London Gatwick (LGW) — easyJet
- London Heathrow (LHR) — British Airways
- London Luton (LTN) — Wizz Air Malta
- London Stansted (STN) — Ryanair
- Manchester (MAN) — easyJet, Jet2, Ryanair
Other airport options include Venice Treviso Airport (TSF), a smaller airport near Padova, and Verona Airport (VRN), which is further west but gives you the opportunity to see Verona.
We suggest arriving in Italy by the afternoon of 11 September 2026 at the latest, so you have enough time to travel to your accommodation.
Travel from the airport
GoOpti is an airport-transfer booking service for shared or private taxi transport. Book in advance and expect around £15–25 per person for a shared journey from Venice Marco Polo to Padova.
If travelling by bus, Busitalia is the main operator, costing around £7 per person from Venice Marco Polo to Padova. Tickets can be purchased at the airport.
Car hire is another option from each airport. There will be ample parking at the wedding venue for the big day.
Accommodation
We most recommend finding accommodation around Padova city centre for first-time travellers to the area. This puts you within walking distance of bus and taxi drop-offs, and within walking distance of Padova’s historic sights.
Booking.com is a good starting point for checking locations and prices, and Airbnb is another option. For three nights in the city centre for two adults, expect roughly £200–300.
Hotel Casa del Pellegrino has offered a 10% discount on double rooms for our guests.
Discount code: ITAWED0926 — available until 31 March 2026 on double rooms.

Other places to stay
You can also look at staying in the periferia, the surrounding areas of Padova, at the cost of being further away from the city centre.
Montegrotto Terme is a spa town south-west of Padova and near the Euganean Hills — relaxing for some, boring for others!
You may be tempted to look for accommodation around the hills, but please keep in mind these areas are fairly remote and harder to get into and out of. Hiring a car is best if you stay there.
Drinks the night before
We will be hosting pre-wedding drinks in Padova on the night before the wedding, 11 September 2026, for guests travelling from abroad.
We will share more information on the location in the future, but please consider this when making your travel plans if you wish to attend.
Travel to the venue
Agriturismo Colli Euganei - Monte Altore
Via Bagnara Alta 836
35030 Zovon PD, Italy
We will arrange bus transport from designated pick-up spots around Padova. These locations will be decided closer to the day.
If you are staying on the outskirts of Padova, or further afield, you may need to travel to join the bus or arrange your own taxi to the venue. If you hire a car for the duration of the stay, there will be more than enough parking at the wedding venue.
Keeping us updated
Please reach out if you have questions, need help making decisions, or just want a sanity check on your plans.
It’s optional, but if you want to keep us up to date with your planned accommodation then we more than welcome it.

Have a great start to the new year.
A dopo, until next time,
Giulia & Steve 💚
