The 12th September is starting to feel much closer now — a little over 100 days to go.

Ciao everyone,

We’re back with another wedding update. Since our last note there has been plenty going on behind the scenes. Giulia has her dress, Steve has his cilt, and the photographer and DJ are locked in. It is making everything feel a bit more real, and a lot more exciting.

For those travelling from abroad, thank you again for making the long trip to celebrate with us. We know many of you already have flights, hotels and travel plans in place. If your plans are still in the works, this is a gentle nudge to start firming them up when you can. We are always on hand to help with any decision making.

We are planning to send the RSVP link around the middle of June, so please keep an eye out for that.

Travel tips

A travel-admin note for British guests: the EU Entry/Exit System has been introduced for non-EU travellers, which has been adding around 30–60 minutes to border checks on both arrival and departure to Italy.

The checks involve biometrics: a scan of your passport, a read of your fingerprints, and a photo. These are done at clearly signposted self-service kiosks at the airport you will be arriving into and departing from. You need to do biometrics both on arrival and departure.

This then lets you use the e-gates to pass through border control — although people with beards such as Steve may still be prompted to do a manual check with a border agent.

We would also encourage everyone booking flights to consider travel insurance. With global events currently ongoing, air travel has been one of the affected industries. We want guests to have both peace of mind and financial protection.

When in Padova

For guests who would like to use the bus we are arranging to the wedding venue on the big day, please let us know where you will be staying.

That will help us coordinate sensible pick-up points and let you know whether you may need to travel to a nearby stop. If you are staying somewhere more out of the way, we can also help point you towards taxi options.

Friday evening

For anyone arriving in Padova early, we are planning a relaxed get-together on the Friday evening at Giardini dell’Arena, from around 6pm.

More details will follow, but it should be a lovely chance to say hello before the wedding day itself.

Il 12 settembre inizia a sembrare molto più vicino — mancano poco più di 100 giorni.

Ciao a tutti,

Torniamo con un altro aggiornamento sul matrimonio. Dall’ultima newsletter sono successe tante cose dietro le quinte. Giulia ha il vestito, Steve ha il kilt, e fotografo e DJ sono confermati. Tutto sembra un po’ più reale e molto più emozionante.

Per chi viaggia dall’estero, grazie ancora per il lungo viaggio che farete per festeggiare con noi. Sappiamo che molti di voi hanno già voli, hotel e piani di viaggio. Se state ancora organizzando, questo è un gentile promemoria per definire i dettagli quando potete. Siamo sempre disponibili ad aiutarvi nelle decisioni.

Stiamo pianificando di inviare il link RSVP intorno a metà giugno, quindi tenetelo d’occhio.

Consigli di viaggio

Una nota pratica per gli ospiti britannici: il sistema europeo Entry/Exit System è stato introdotto per i viaggiatori non UE e può aggiungere circa 30–60 minuti ai controlli di frontiera sia all’arrivo sia alla partenza dall’Italia.

I controlli includono dati biometrici: scansione del passaporto, lettura delle impronte digitali e foto. Si effettuano presso chioschi self-service chiaramente segnalati nell’aeroporto di arrivo e di partenza. I dati biometrici vanno registrati sia all’arrivo sia alla partenza.

Questo poi permette di usare gli e-gate per passare il controllo di frontiera — anche se le persone con la barba, come Steve, potrebbero comunque essere invitate a fare un controllo manuale con un agente.

Consigliamo inoltre a chi prenota voli di valutare un’assicurazione di viaggio. Con gli eventi globali attualmente in corso, il trasporto aereo è stato tra i settori interessati. Vogliamo che gli ospiti abbiano sia tranquillità sia protezione economica.

Quando sarete a Padova

Per gli ospiti che desiderano usare l’autobus che stiamo organizzando per raggiungere la location il giorno del matrimonio, fateci sapere dove soggiornerete.

Questo ci aiuterà a coordinare punti di raccolta sensati e a farvi sapere se dovrete raggiungere una fermata vicina. Se soggiornate in una zona più fuori mano, possiamo anche aiutarvi a trovare opzioni taxi.

Venerdì sera

Per chi arriva a Padova in anticipo, stiamo organizzando un incontro informale il venerdì sera ai Giardini dell’Arena, dalle 18 circa.

Seguiranno altri dettagli, ma sarà una bella occasione per salutarci prima del giorno del matrimonio.
